About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Distribution & Standards Engineer to support the development and continuous improvement of engineering standards, equipment specifications, and design practices for electric utility infrastructure. The role works across engineering, operations, construction, procurement, and other technical teams to ensure standards promote safety, reliability, regulatory compliance, constructability, and cost-effective system performance. The position may be filled at the Engineer, Senior Engineer, or Lead Engineer level based on experience and technical expertise. Depending on assignment and experience, the work may cover distribution and transmission structures, conductors, insulators, line hardware, distribution transformers, switches, capacitor banks, substation transformers and circuit breakers, distribution and substation switchgear, control and protection-related systems, station battery and DC systems, and other equipment and materials supporting electric power delivery infrastructure. At the Engineer level, the role typically involves independently developing and maintaining standards and specifications, supporting equipment and material evaluations, design reviews, procurement specifications, and standards compliance, and providing technical guidance to project and field teams. Senior and Lead Engineers may lead standards development and complex technical evaluations, provide technical direction and mentoring, and serve as subject-matter resources. At the Lead level, the role may also provide strategic technical leadership, guide cross-functional standardization and governance, advise organizational leadership, and guide adoption of emerging technologies and modernization initiatives.
