About The Position

Our Ft. Worth, TX location is seeking a Distribution Pharmacy Technician to coordinate the inbound and outbound DEA controlled substance operation of a fast paced Distribution Center. This position ensures all receiving, storing, handling, distribution, and administrative tasks of the controlled substances are completed according to DEA Regulations. We offer a climate-controlled, small-team environment where you rarely have to work weekends!

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in distribution of Controlled Substances.
  • Knowledge of DEA regulations required.
  • Current PTCB certification as a CPhT required and certification with the state where job duties are performed as a pharmacy technician, if the state requires certification.
  • Detail oriented with good communication and good customer service skills.
  • Ability to maintain good rapport with regulatory agencies, internal and external customers.
  • Good computer skills and ability to resolve customer’s problem effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates or Bachelor Degree preferred.
  • Previous history with radio frequency devices and system 21 a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures all Controlled Substance (CS) orders are accurate, complete and compliant to all federal and state laws.
  • Communicates effectively with both internal and external customers to resolve order issues.
  • Develops, manages, and implements processes and systems that will help build cross-functional teams to support controlled substance sales and ensure that the right product is picked, packaged, and shipped.
  • Maintains compliant records for all controlled substance activity to ensure they are readily retrievable for all inspections.
  • Makes certain that all CS orders received from suppliers/vendors are accurate, complete, and that paperwork is compliant. Follows up with CS vendors when information is inadequate and/or shipment not complete.
  • Fills customer orders by using radio frequency devices to pull product.
  • Works with Regulatory Affairs to ensure that procedures and policies are followed and that security of all controlled substance products are maintained.
  • Makes decisions, works independently, and prioritizes work based upon the business and customer needs.
  • Stays abreast of regulatory changes and works to maintain a general understanding of DEA, FDA, EPA, OSHA, DOT and GMP regulations.
  • Leads and assists in DEA and BOP inspections regarding CS.
  • Leads and assists other warehouse associates in handling controlled substance orders, ensuring that they comply with all federal and state regulations.
