About The Position

Premier Brands Group Holdings Inc. is currently seeking a Distribution Operations Director. This role is responsible for controlling product flow through inventory by managing staff, receiving, storing, stocking, and distributing product. The Director will be responsible for the success of assigned functions within a complex Distribution Center environment to ensure it is an outstanding place to work. This position directs and oversees the day-to-day operations of finished goods through the warehouse, develops the leadership team, and provides daily oversight for all operational requirements for warehouse operational staff via training and career development. The role also oversees warehousing activities to ensure processes and procedures are understood and followed, including warehouse compliance for inventory management, labor management, cycle counting, product handling, and other services. The Director will troubleshoot and provide solutions for issues of a moderate to complex scope, meet or exceed established goals relative to on-time delivery and shipping accuracy performance, and control costs associated with facility operations. This role manages the staffing level of approximately 300+ employees with emphasis on overtime and work efficiency, including workforce movement, and controls costs associated with purchases, maintenance, and travel. A key aspect of this role is to create a friendly, clean, and safe environment for all employees within the facility. The Director will work closely as a team with both Senior Directors of Distribution and other managers and engineers, assist in the review and development of supervisors, and ensure that all orders are processed in an effective and timely manner. Knowledge of labor laws such as unemployment, OSHA, FMLA, EEOC, and ADA is required. The Director will act in accordance with pre-established guidelines and processes, escalate issues to the Director of Distribution/senior leadership, and devise and develop effective communication between and among management and associates to promote associate morale and provide an environment conducive to achieving reduced costs and increased productivity. The role supports, communicates, and recommends employee relations practices necessary to help establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation. The Director interfaces cross-functionally at all levels within the divisions of the company, with daily communication and an exchange of information regarding warehouse operations procedures and processes to ensure meeting customer requirements. People leadership, including management, motivation, and development of staff, as well as teamwork, is crucial. The role manages morale to minimize employee turnover and provide a workplace that encourages the growth and development of associates. Strong teamwork and communication with co-workers to achieve common goals are expected.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two (6) to four (8) years experience in management.
  • Previous experience in distribution or warehouse environment highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to use technology (MS Office, WMS, SAP & AS/400) to gather, interpret, analyze and present date.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to function in an ever-changing environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of labor laws such as unemployment, OSHA, FMLA, EEOC and ADA.
