Responsible for supporting shipping functions at the NADC including safety, quality and productivity through knowledge around Oregon Tool’s systems. The role involves operating forklifts for order picking and packing, efficiently picking customer orders for shipment, ensuring the correct number and type of product is packaged, and using computer systems like SAP to document product movement. The Distribution Material Handler will transport orders to consolidation areas, assemble products for shipment, and tag/label orders as required. This position also involves investigating and resolving shipment discrepancies, matching product quantities to purchase orders, and packing orders to prevent damage during transit. Ensuring outbound shipments are accurate and meeting work schedules and deadlines are key aspects of the role. The individual will seek leadership for guidance, support leadership by following directions, and provide training to team members as needed. Collaboration with supervisors from previous/next shifts to determine priorities and ensure proper workflow is expected. Maintaining open communication through formal and informal documents and conversations is important. Responsibilities also include cleaning work areas, identifying and reporting safety hazards, following emergency procedures, and understanding and applying various safety standards such as hazard communication, lockout/tag-out, machine guarding, bloodborne pathogens, and confined spaces. Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safe work practices for bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling are required.
