About The Position

Oregon Tool, Inc. is seeking a Distribution Material Handler to support shipping functions at the North American Distribution Center (NADC) in Kansas City, MO. Requirements

  • High School diploma or nationally recognized regionally accredited equivalent required.
  • Minimum of six (6) months experience operating a stand-up narrow-aisle reach truck.
  • Minimum of six (6) months experience operating an order selector.
  • Computer-based warehouse management system experience required.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs repetitively.
  • Must be able to work effectively and communicate with others in a team environment.
  • Must be able to take initiative, seeking and acting on opportunities to improve the organization's performance.
  • English fluency for safety, training, and documentation purposes.
  • Able to complete responsibilities in a timely, professional, and quality manner.
  • Solve problems analytically; search out relevant information and gauge its importance when making decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts for order picking and packing.
  • Efficiently pick customer orders for shipment, ensuring correct product type and quantity.
  • Use computer and SAP to document product movement.
  • Transport orders to consolidation areas using a forklift.
  • Assemble various products efficiently for shipment.
  • Tag, label, or mark orders as required.
  • Investigate and assist in resolving shipment discrepancies.
  • Match product quantity to purchase orders.
  • Pack orders to prevent damage during shipment.
  • Ensure outbound shipments are accurate.
  • Work diligently to meet work schedules and deadlines.
  • Seek leadership for questions and support leadership by following direction.
  • Provide training to team members as needed.
  • Work with supervisors/leads from previous/next shifts to determine priorities and ensure proper workflow.
  • Maintain open communication through conversation and formal/informal documents.
  • Clean work areas and remove trash to designated areas.
  • Identify and report safety hazards.
  • Follow evacuation/emergency procedures.
  • Understand and apply hazard communication standards, lockout/tag-out, machine guarding, bloodborne pathogens, and confined spaces as applicable to the position.
  • Understand and use correct personal protective equipment (gloves, safety glasses, steel toe shoes, hearing protection) when required.
  • Follow proper bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling techniques.
  • Adhere to motorized equipment usage and pedestrian safety guidelines.
