Responsible for supporting shipping functions at the NADC including safety, quality and productivity through knowledge around Oregon Tool’s systems. This role involves operating forklifts for order picking and packing, efficiently picking customer orders for shipment, ensuring the correct number and type of product is packaged, and using computer systems like SAP to document product movement. The position also includes transporting orders, assembling products for shipment, tagging and labeling orders, investigating shipment discrepancies, matching product quantities to purchase orders, and ensuring outbound shipments are accurate. The Material Handler must work diligently to meet schedules and deadlines, seek leadership when questions arise, support leadership by following direction, and provide training to team members as needed. Collaboration with supervisors/leads from previous/next shifts is essential for determining priorities and ensuring proper workflow. Maintaining open communication through formal and informal documents is also a key aspect of the role. Additionally, the position requires maintaining a clean work area, identifying and reporting safety hazards, following emergency procedures, understanding and applying hazard communication standards, and using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Proper bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling techniques, along with adherence to motorized equipment and pedestrian safety, are mandatory.
