About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Distribution Manager to lead our warehouse operations in Birmingham, AL. In this role, you will oversee all distribution center activities—including receiving, shipping, and inventory management—while driving operational efficiency within budget. This key operational position manages Eastern’s regional distribution center supporting branches in Alabama (Birmingham, Huntsville, and Mobile), Georgia (Atlanta and Lagrange), and Nashville, TN. As a key leader, you will manage warehouse associates, delivery drivers, shipping, receiving, optimize storage and retrieval layouts, ensure ISO 9001 quality compliance, and continuously improve supply chain strategies to deliver an exceptional experience for our branches, customers, partners, and vendors.

Requirements

Proven experience in a Distribution Manager, Supervisor, or Coordinator role within a high-volume warehouse environment.
Strong computer skills.
Ability to analyze operational data, evaluate variables, and implement effective solutions efficiently.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with a team-first mindset and strong customer service orientation.
Strong organizational skills, high dependability, proactive initiative, and a commitment to quality and safety standards.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience with Eclipse software (or willingness/ability to learn) is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Plan, direct, and streamline day-to-day warehouse operations (receiving, order fulfillment, shipping) to ensure timely, accurate deliveries while managing operating budgets.
Supervise, mentor, and support warehouse associates and temporary staff. Handle hiring, training, performance appraisals, work scheduling, and team building.
Conduct cycle counts and annual physical inventory counts. Maintain ISO 9001 certification standards by utilizing and updating quality management tools.
Design and implement warehouse layout plans to optimize space utilization, storage, and retrieval workflows. Develop innovative supply strategies.
Communicate with branches, vendors, and customers to resolve logistics issues, inventory discrepancies, and supply chain bottlenecks.
Enforce OSHA and company health, safety, and security regulations to ensure a safe work environment for all employees.
