About The Position

The Distribution Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, changing over, and operating the Packsize, Automailer, and CVP packaging machines. This role requires a focus on the quality and efficiency of the machines, with a proactive approach to identifying and correcting operating issues. The operator will also be responsible for daily 5S activities, ensuring organization, safety, housekeeping, and adequate material availability.

Responsibilities

Follow all standard work including safety standards.
Follow all company policies and general plant rules (GPR’s) as outlined in the handbook.
Maintain and monitor machine to make sure it functions properly.
Understand each machine's mechanical and system set-up; can adjust machine as needed for changeovers, different functions, or other varying needs.
Perform minor preventative maintenance and recognize potential issues to avoid downtime.
Verify the completeness of carton contents and assure carton/bags meet quality standards.
Place carton contents in the most efficient spatial arrangement to minimize shipping costs.
Maintain and track machine output by hour.
Train new operators on machine operations and responsibilities.
Responsible for daily 5S activities, such as organization and safety, housekeeping, verifying adequate materials and supplies are available.
Work assigned overtime when necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned.
