About The Position

This role coordinates and performs tasks related to shipping and receiving of materials in the Distribution Department, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. The position maintains a safe, clean, and orderly work environment. The Distribution Lead acts as a main point of contact in the department, assists the Distribution Supervisor with directing daily workflow, and acts on behalf of the Distribution Supervisor as requested. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, including adherence to all safety protocols, promoting a culture of safety, and promptly reporting incidents. Active participation in safety programs such as the safety committee, Risk Assessments, Exposure Hunts, department inspections, and change management activities is expected. The role involves being a point of contact for shipping, receiving & distribution requests, understanding departmental procedures, creating and maintaining procedures and training programs, and training new hires. The Distribution Lead performs IT testing for new programs, software & hardware, troubleshoots labeling, printing & Oracle issues, and supports the Warehouse Supervisor in administrative functions. They run daily department stand-up meetings, assess resource needs, advise associates on task prioritization, release daily sales orders, and are expected to work well in a team environment, maintain full-time presence, be cross-trained, have excellent attendance, and work overtime as required. Additional tasks may be assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year with Velcro USA as Distribution Associate III, or equivalent experience.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office programs, desktop, and mobile technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with and train others on complex tasks.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Ability to lift to 65lbs unassisted.
  • Certifications in both clamp truck and sit-down fork truck.
  • ERP system knowledge.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Positive attitude and flexibility in assigned tasks.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA safety rules.

  • Associates or bachelor’s degree with focus on logistics or related discipline.

  • Exhibit an understanding of all departmental procedures & requirements.
  • Create & maintain procedures, work instructions & training programs.
  • Create training plans with Warehouse Supervisor & train all new hires.
  • Perform IT testing for new programs, software & hardware.

  • Support Warehouse Supervisor in administrative functions as needed.
  • Run daily department stand up meeting in Distribution Supervisor's absence.
  • Assess resource needs throughout day in all areas & advise associates on what tasks to prioritize in Distribution Supervisor's absence.
  • Release daily sales orders in Distribution Supervisor's absence.
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
  • Full time presence required.
  • Ability and willingness to be cross trained in any other functions as required or requested.
  • Excellent attendance required.
  • Ability to work overtime as required or requested including extended shifts and weekends.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
