About The Position

Xcel Energy is hiring a Distribution Engineer at the entry, staff, or senior level. The position develops technical expertise in a specialty area and performs engineering work involving conventional plans, investigations, surveys, structures, or equipment with relatively few complex features. Work is generally limited in scope, follows established procedures, and is performed under supervision, with technical judgment and work reviewed by others. As proficiency grows, the engineer may contribute to larger projects. The engineer may lead small-to-medium non-critical projects or provide field oversight of critical projects under the direction of a higher-level engineer or supervisor. Depending on level and experience, the role may coordinate or guide interns, drafters, craft personnel, technicians, and other staff. Candidates are placed at a level commensurate with their skills and experience. Xcel Energy supports a hybrid work model; many roles are expected onsite three days per week, Tuesday through Thursday, though expectations vary by role, team, and business needs.
