Distribution Engineer (Entry, Staff, or Senior)

Xcel Energy•Lubbock, TX
•$70,000 - $129,267•Hybrid

About The Position

This position develops technical expertise in a particular specialty area and performs engineering work involving conventional plans, investigations, surveys, structures, or equipment with relatively few complex features and established precedents. Assignments have limited scope and require knowledge of principles and techniques commonly used in the specialty area. The engineer works under supervision, follows established procedures, and has work reviewed for soundness of technical judgment, adequacy, and accuracy. With increasing proficiency, the engineer may contribute to larger projects. The role may lead small- to medium-sized, non-critical projects or provide field oversight of critical projects under the direction of a higher-level engineer or supervisor, and may coordinate or supervise interns, drafters, craft personnel, technicians, or others. The successful candidate will be placed at the entry, staff, or senior level according to skills and experience. The posting's summary and responsibilities describe the entry-level role; higher levels have additional experience and technical proficiency requirements. Xcel Energy supports a hybrid work model. Many roles are expected to work onsite three days per week, Tuesday through Thursday, although expectations vary by role, team, and business needs.
