About The Position

Leidos is hiring Distribution Engineers to support utility customers and projects on Maui, Hawaii. The role is part of the Customer Engineering Department and focuses on delivering high-quality electric utility design engineering for a local utility system. The position includes coordination with clients, customers, contractors, municipal agencies, and internal teams; field assessments and site visits; engineering calculations; quality reviews; and support during and after construction. Candidates may be based on Maui or relocate from elsewhere in the United States; a competitive relocation package is available to eligible hires. The position offers exposure to NESC requirements, structural pole modeling, electrical power calculations, GIS design training, field data collection, and client design standards. Leidos describes the work environment as fast-paced and diverse, with flexible work hours or arrangements and opportunities for career development, including PE licensure, PMP development, leadership training, formal mentorship, and management opportunities. Regular travel to sites and customer meetings is expected as needed, and overnight travel may be required at 15–25%.
