About The Position

Leidos is hiring Distribution Engineers based on Oahu, Hawaii, to support local electric utility customers, projects, and teams. The role involves designing electric utility distribution systems, working directly with utility clients, and helping deliver projects to high quality standards. Qualified candidates may already live on Oahu or relocate from elsewhere in the United States; a competitive relocation package is available to eligible hires. The Distribution Engineer independently develops design and construction work packages for moderately complex overhead and underground electrical distribution systems operating from 4 kV through 138 kV. Work is mostly programmatic, including overloaded transformers, inspection and maintenance, joint use, and inspection reports. The engineer reviews client-provided work and scope requirements, develops permitting documents, coordinates with permitting agencies and internal and external stakeholders, and provides engineering support through construction and post-construction review. The position is part of Leidos' Power Delivery Services Team, which supports utilities and mobile operators with power and telecommunications expertise. The work environment is described as fast-paced and diverse, with flexible work hours and arrangements.
