About The Position

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Power Distribution Engineer II to join their team. This role is primarily responsible for developing cost-effective conceptual and engineering solutions to upgrade, expand, maintain, and automate overhead and underground power distribution systems for clients, utilizing various software systems and engineering/construction standards. The position ensures compliance with client procedures, design standards, state and federal regulatory requirements, and safety code requirements. The engineer will execute projects under the guidance of a Senior Engineer and collaborate closely with other engineers involved in substation, distribution, transmission, renewable energy, power storage, and communication designs. Westwood boasts a highly experienced and dynamic team dedicated to delivering high-level professional services.

Requirements

1-3 years of experience with a B.S. in an Engineering Discipline from an ABET accredited university.
Can perform all Engineer I activities.

Responsibilities

Perform all Distribution Engineer I Roles/Responsibilities
Design and develop advanced engineering solutions, applying engineering principles and utility standards.
Analyze advanced projects and prepare comprehensive design criteria.
Provide guidance and mentorship to Engineer 1 and interns, fostering their professional growth.
Identify and resolve engineering challenges, proposing innovative solutions.
Ensure all engineering/design work adheres to industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
Preparation of technical documentation, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
Maintain comprehensive records of project developments and changes.
Participate in stakeholder meetings to provide technical insights and updates.
Engage in professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
