Distribution Engineer I
About The Position
Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Power Distribution Engineer I to join their team. This role is primarily responsible for developing cost-effective conceptual and engineering solutions to upgrade, expand, maintain, and automate overhead and underground power distribution systems for clients. The engineer will utilize various software systems and adhere to engineering/construction standards, ensuring compliance with client procedures, design standards, and state and federal regulatory and safety code requirements. This position operates under the guidance of a Senior Engineer and collaborates with engineers on substation, distribution, transmission, renewable energy, power storage, and communication designs. Westwood boasts a highly experienced and dynamic team dedicated to delivering high-level professional services.
Requirements
- 0-1 years of experience with a B.S. in an Engineering Discipline from an ABET accredited university.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other Windows-based programs.

Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and development of engineering/design projects.
- Create and modify engineering/design drawings and ensure that all engineering work complies with industry standards and regulations.
- Safely and accurately conduct field walkdowns to obtain accurate information for designs.
- Prepare technical documentation.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to project planning and execution.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving engineering issues as they arise.
- Engage in continuous learning to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
- Seek mentorship and guidance from senior engineers to develop professionally.
