About The Position
The Distribution Driver Helper assists delivery drivers with assigned route delivery functions. The role involves delivering products to licensed retailers, checking in orders with customers, handling payments and invoices, managing returned merchandise and empty boxes, and completing required delivery logs and check-in procedures. The employee attends safety meetings and required courses, reports moving violations to management, and may operate equipment safely within licensing requirements. Other related duties may be assigned. The position pays $22.50 per hour. The posting describes a full-time role with extended hours, overtime, weekends, and peak-season schedules potentially required.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience.
- Must obtain a Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License.
- Experience in a warehousing environment.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and/or software applications related to job functions.
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service, analytical/problem-solving, problem-management, presentation-development, presentation, and communication skills.
- Must be able to frequently lift, lower, push, carry, or pull up to 48 pounds.
- Must be able to regularly sit and operate machinery such as a forklift, pallet jacks, and battery change stations.
Responsibilities
- Deliver products as invoiced to specified licensed retailers.
- Check in invoiced orders with customers in a friendly, courteous manner.
- Collect and return all payments as required.
- Account for all invoices of merchandise delivered and merchandise returned.
- Collect empty boxes to be used for redelivery, as needed.
- Ensure delivery logs are completed as required.
- Ensure check-in procedures are followed daily.
- Attend monthly safety meetings.
- Take safety courses and other classes as needed.
- Report all moving violations to management.
- Drive equipment in a professional and safe manner, as needed and within licensing requirements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
