About The Position

Leidos is seeking a Distribution Drafter to join a dynamic team within their Power Delivery Solutions organization. This group consists of electric utility engineering consultants who address challenging engineering problems for utility clients nationwide. The role offers a fast-paced, diverse work environment with flexible work hours and arrangements. In this role, you can expect to gain expertise in NESC, perform electrical power calculations, interact with other disciplines (Substation, Protection & Controls, and Civil Structural), and develop time management and organizational skills. This posting is for multiple opportunities with varying years of experience, and the level of the opportunity, including compensation, will be matched to the candidate's experience. The Distribution Drafter will work under the mentorship of a seasoned team in a fast-paced environment, performing various drafting and detailing functions using MicroStation and AutoCAD software for utility clients. The individual is expected to develop the ability to work with increased independence. The qualified individual will collaborate closely with multiple design engineers and designers to complete drafting and detailing tasks with a high level of quality, efficiency, and productivity for client projects.

Requirements

High School diploma with 1+ years of relevant drafting and detailing experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
Knowledge of drafting principles, techniques and procedures.
Proficiency with the manipulation of vector and raster drawing files in AutoCAD and Microstation.
Ability to create and/or modify drawings from engineer-provided markups with a high level of attention to details.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
Experience with file sharing, document management and collaboration tools such as ProjectWise, FTP, SharePoint, etc.

Responsibilities

Provide 2D and/or 3D drawings in support of our distribution team.
Create plan and profile drawings to support both overhead and underground projects.
Help develop and maintain any standards and processes to support the Distribution team.
Support remote office overflow CAD workload on a need and availability basis, requiring coordination with other CAD leads in Leidos offices.
