About The Position

Responsible for ensuring that all shipping and receiving documents and functions are accurately and timely completed. This role involves communicating with customers as required and, in collaboration with the Transportation Department, developing inbound and outbound freight schedules. The Distribution Clerk plays a key part in maintaining efficient warehouse operations and inventory accuracy.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of 1-2 years experience required.
Experience with shipping and receiving operations is also necessary.
Experience with personal computers.
Good judgment and decision-making ability.
Communication skills, both oral and written, are essential.
Simple math skills required.
Ability to operate fork lift, crane, and truck as needed.

Responsibilities

Schedule inbound and outbound freight to comply with warehouse operations and capacities, in conjunction with the Warehouse or Transportation Manager.
Ensure proper labels and tickets are applied before shipping.
Maintain good security habits at dock doors.
Assist in loading and unloading trucks when necessary; operate fork lift, crane, and truck as needed.
Comply with OSHA and other appropriate standards.
Ensure the accuracy of all receiving and shipping documents.
Gather and maintain all data and records relative to shipping and receiving activities.
Enter data into systems.
Verify that receiving counts match packing lists and purchase orders, and that shipping counts match picking documents.
Assist in resolving any discrepancies.
Collect all documentation for inbound freight and route to the proper record-keeping unit.
Direct and oversee the pallet control and exchange program.
Participate in cycle counts and help maintain inventory accuracy.
Perform other duties as assigned.
