About The Position

The Distribution Center Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the operations of a particular warehouse department. This leadership role will be responsible for assigning work and work functions to all warehouse employees as necessary to meet the needs of the customer, following company and site-specific safety policies, and ensuring the daily workload is completed in a timely manner. The Distribution Center Supervisor will lead by example and aid in developing a culture that embraces safety, quality, productivity, and inventory control.

Requirements

Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a warehouse environment.
Experience working with a warehouse management system (WMS).
Experience working with forklifts and other MHE.
Must be able to work independently.
Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Nice To Haves

Previous leadership experience is preferred.
Warehouse experience, particularly using RF equipment, is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assign tasks to warehouse personnel through written and/or oral instruction, including unloading, outbound staging and loading, verifying and labeling of freight.
Supervise tasks performed by warehouse personnel.
Complete reports and records in a timely manner.
Advise employees on care and preservation of products, use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, shipping stock, and related problems.
Ensure high-quality customer service through assisting employees in warehouse functions when help is needed.
Take action and speak to associates when proper safety, quality, and productivity procedures are not being followed.
Work cooperatively and productively with other warehouse associates.
Adhere to company or site-specific safety policy and guidelines to ensure safe working conditions for self and others.
Troubleshoot machine and equipment malfunctions and report them to maintenance personnel.
Performs warehouse functions including order picking, packing, and loading/unloading.
Ability to pull a 50 lb. cart throughout the warehouse.
Ability to locate products using technology (RF equipment).
Ability to read and interpret numbers and words from a pick ticket.
Follows company procedures and policies to complete tasks in a timely manner.
Participate in keeping the facility maintained in a clean, neat, and orderly fashion.
