Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older
Minimum 3 months combined work history
Proficiency in operating multiple pieces of warehouse powered equipment (walkie rider, stock chaser, stand up forklift, order picker, and/or reach truck)
Ability to pass background checks and investigations due to foreign, federal, state and local regulations; based on position responsibility and sensitivity, periodic check and reinvestigations may be performed
Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner
Arrives on time and is prepared to begin work at the scheduled shift time and committed to working scheduled hours with flexibility to work additional hours based on changing business needs
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a professional manner, both orally and in writing, at all levels within and outside the organization
Flexible, with a positive attitude and passion for knowledge
Possesses focused attention to detail while working quickly and accurately under pressure
Ability to work within and exemplify The Container Store brand which we describe as matchless, fun, authentic, team-focused and life-changing

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience working in a Distribution Center or warehouse environment is preferred
Knowledge of various distribution systems such as labor management system, radio frequency devices and voice picking preferred

Responsibilities

Utilize cutting-edge technology and powered equipment to pick and pack orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring that every package meets our high standards.
Navigate computer-based programs to streamline order processing and exceed customer expectations.
Follow standardized work as it relates to picking, packing, loading and cutting procedures.
Consistently meet time-based productivity standards.
Utilize the voice picking system to fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently.
Ensure the correct quantity and quality of items are picked/packed for each order according to established procedures.
Work in multi-level picking modules and around conveyor systems.
Maintain a safe work area, adhering to safety policies and procedures.
Support and work in various departments throughout the Distribution Center.
Work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
Work in a load completed customer packages.
Maintain inventory accuracy throughout the Distribution Center.
Timely and accurately relocate inventory from the Receiving dock to either open-air reserve locations or active pick locations.
Use a manual pallet jack and operate multiple pieces of warehouse powered equipment (walkie rider, stock chaser, stand up forklift, order picker, and/or reach truck) to perform putaway tasks in multi-level pick modules.
Utilize handheld devices to receive replenishment and putaway tasks.
Maneuver equipment, navigate aisles, and use the lift mechanism to reach high racks. Adhere to safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
Pick, load and secure product on trucks for store replenishment.
Receive, inspect, process and accept merchandise into the Distribution Center.
Check in freight and ensure accuracy of products received.
Stow product throughout the Distribution Center ensuring accuracy.
Operate motorized and non-motorized equipment (certification required).
Consistently meet all Labor Management and productivity standards.
Maintain a clean and safe Distribution Center, adhering to safety policies and procedures.
Train and support other departments throughout the Distribution Center as needed.
Maintain discretion related to all confidential/sensitive company and customer information.
Check in freight and verify the accuracy and condition of products received.
Utilize warehouse systems and scanning technology to process inbound merchandise.
Understand all areas of the inbound process, including receiving, putaway, and inventory control.
