About The Position

The Distribution Center Shipping Supervisor at Airgas Safety in Levittown, Pennsylvania, oversees daily outbound shipping operations, workflow efficiency, and team performance within a safety products distribution center. The role ensures safety equipment, personal protective equipment (PPE), and industrial supplies are accurately processed, packaged, and shipped on time while upholding Airgas’s safety culture and regulatory standards. The supervisor directs shipping workflows, leads and develops shipping associates and material handlers, promotes safety and compliance, manages inventory and shipping systems, coordinates carriers, and oversees equipment and dock maintenance.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
2–5 years of progressive distribution center or warehouse leadership experience, focused on high-volume outbound shipping.
Hands-on experience with SAP or equivalent ERP/WMS systems, Google Workspace (Sheets and Docs), and parcel carrier platforms.
Forklift operator certification.
Ability to regularly lift up to 50–60 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, and operate powered industrial trucks in a fast-paced environment.

Associate or bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business.
DOT/Hazmat shipping certification.

Responsibilities

Direct daily outbound shipping workflows, including order verification, staging, and dispatching LTL, parcel, and dedicated-hauler shipments.
Supervise, train, and coach shipping associates and material handlers; conduct daily shift huddles, manage scheduling, and track productivity metrics.
Promote a safety-first work environment and ensure adherence to OSHA, DOT, EPA, and Airgas SAFECORE standards.
Investigate incidents, lead monthly safety training, and conduct routine dock audits.
Use SAP and warehouse management systems to audit outbound orders, track inventory accuracy, resolve order exceptions, and log shipping data.
Coordinate daily carrier pickups, evaluate delivery performance, and ensure compliance with hazardous materials shipping protocols where applicable.
Oversee maintenance logs for powered industrial equipment and keep dock areas organized and free of hazards.
