About The Position

As a Distribution Center Inventory Purchasing Specialist, you will support the Aviation Maintenance crafts via the distribution warehouse by providing logistical support and procurement services for all aviation customers. We are recruiting for two openings. You will support technicians who provide Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) of airport. You will maintain MRO inventory stock items, buy supplies, and other essential materials and services; issue parts and maintenance materials, and fill orders for the departments and technicians using Maximo and service-related records. You will purchase material, services, and items using a Purchasing Card, Blanket Vendor Contracts, and Requisitions through the Port’s Central Procurement Office. You will receive and validate supplies as they are received, as well as load/unload incoming and outgoing shipments using a forklift and/or other warehouse equipment. You will locate sources of supplies and order items from vendors to fill rush orders or meet emergencies and communicate with multiple vendors to purchase goods and services using Port of Seattle procurement contracts and procedures. You will process vendor invoices and prepare contract payment requests on open purchase orders via Maximo and PeopleSoft. You will report to the Distribution Center Lead, Procurement and Inventory Supervisor and the Manager of the Distribution Center. You may be directed to report to the maintenance craft supervisor to meet operational requirements.

Requirements

  • One (1) year of warehouse experience, including inventory management and purchasing
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to become certified on a forklift within the probationary period
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Hands-on working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to learn new applications such as Maximo (computerized maintenance management system), SAP Concur, and Oracle PeopleSoft
  • Proficient in general office functions such as filing, records keeping, copying, and faxing
  • Able to type a minimum of 40 words per minute
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Flexible, self-motivated, and have the ability to multi-task
  • Able to take directions and work independently as well as with the team

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) years of distribution level warehouse experience
  • Experience with Maximo, or other computerized maintenance management systems
  • Experience with Oracle PeopleSoft, SAP, Concur
  • Possess a current Forklift Certification (sit down and stand up)
