About The Position

The DC IC specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate inventory records through the planning, execution, and analysis of daily and periodic cycle counts. This role runs counting activities, investigates variances, drives root-cause corrective actions, and partners with warehouse and operations teams to maintain inventory integrity and support business goals.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of warehouse or inventory control experience
• Strong cycle counting and variance investigation skills
• Working knowledge of WMS/ERP systems
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills

Nice To Haves

• Experience in distribution center or high-volume warehouse
• ERP experience (SAP, Manhattan, or similar)
• Lean or Six Sigma exposure

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and execute daily, weekly, and ad-hoc cycle counts
• Ensure cycle counts are completed accurately and on time
• Maintain inventory accuracy aligned with company KPIs
• Responsible for yard audits of storage trailers
• Act as the subject-matter expert for inventory accuracy processes
• Investigate inventory discrepancies and resolve count variances
• Identify root causes (process, system, receiving, picking, shipping)
• Recommend and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
• Escalate unresolved issues to management with supporting data
• Track and report inventory accuracy, adjustments, and trends
• Maintain accurate documentation and audit trails
• Support internal and external audits as required
• Assist with physical inventories and year-end counts
• Identify process gaps impacting inventory accuracy
• Support continuous improvement initiatives (5S, Lean, SOP updates)
• Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls
• Promote safe work practices during all counting activities
