About The Position

The Distribution Center Generalist picks customer orders and packs them according to company standards for efficiency, safe and damage-free handling, and productivity. The role has two levels—Generalist and Senior Generalist—based on work complexity. Senior Generalists operate a cherry picker and often help coordinate workflow within a particular segment of Distribution Center operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Good math, language, and reading skills.
• High degree of attention to prevent injury to others and promote a safe work environment.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions for picking and packing operations and keeping records.
• Ability to execute assignments accurately, promptly, and safely.
• Ability to maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to push and move boxes weighing up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Pick merchandise from Distribution Center aisles that does not require a forklift or clamp truck.
• Receive merchandise for return or delivery and verify its contents.
• Count and stock merchandise based on the inventory control log.
• Identify damaged, lost, or missing merchandise and notify a supervisor immediately.
• Pack orders in an orderly manner and prepare boxes for shipping.
• Handle merchandise with care and concern.
• Train and support new hires as they are onboarded.
• For Senior Generalists, operate a cherry picker and help coordinate workflow within a particular segment of Distribution Center operations.
