About The Position

The Distribution Center Associate picks, packs, and loads products from the distribution center onto delivery trucks, manually or using material-handling equipment. The position works a second-shift schedule beginning at 5:00 p.m., with varying end times. The associate is expected to maintain productivity and accuracy, protect products from damage, and follow OSHA and workplace safety standards.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate and comprehend written and oral information.
• Competence in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to operate necessary equipment, including forklifts, stock pickers, two-wheelers, wrapping machines, dollies, and carts.
• Must be certified by Acorn Distributors on all equipment as required by OSHA within 90 days.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months to one year of experience in a distribution center.
• Ability to meet productivity and accuracy expectations.

Responsibilities

• Read customer, work, or shipping orders to determine which items to pick and load.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place them on pallets for loading onto delivery trucks.
• Load products onto trucks in the predetermined order.
• Ensure products are not damaged and are loaded for ease of sorting and selection upon delivery.
• Inspect equipment and complete log sheets at the beginning of every shift.
• Clean the distribution center and connect necessary equipment to charging stations at the end of every shift.
• Follow OSHA and safety standards and report violations to the direct supervisor.
• Perform other duties as required.
