Eversource Energy is the largest Energy delivery company in New England, supporting customers in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. Field Automation Technicians and Specialists provide technical service to install, commission, troubleshoot, and maintain remote terminal units for system control and data acquisition, managing Distribution Electric Grid devices as green energy resources are integrated. This is an entry-level position where individuals work independently or as part of a team on technical assignments associated with the installation, programming, commissioning, maintenance, or repair of hardware and data base records for a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA). The SCADA System includes equipment such as Remote Terminal Units (RTUs), data concentrators, Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs), various communication systems, centralized servers, computer applications, digital multi-meters, analog transducers, peripheral hardware and sensors, and various electronic system components and devices. The role involves programming and troubleshooting machine language, firmware, software, and protocols used for equipment interfacing and communication. Additionally, the individual will create and update configuration and drawing files for the SCADA system related to various intelligent electronic devices (IEDs). A key responsibility includes compliance and maintenance of Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) systems, requiring annual CIP certification. Availability for on-call and storm assignments is necessary. The salary range for this position starts at $37.39 per hour and progresses in accordance with the union contract.
