About The Position

Reporting to the Director of Operations, Supply Chain CMG. The Distribution Center Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and operational excellence of the distribution center. This role ensures the safe, efficient, and cost-effective receipt, storage, inventory management, and distribution of products while maintaining high levels of customer service. The Distribution Center Manager leads warehouse personnel, manages operational budgets, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and safety standards. Candidates must possess the desire and ability to demonstrate continuous leadership of our values and support the continued growth of our business and our people. Preference will be given to qualified candidates with a passion for the craft brewing industry.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to create & operate within budget guidelines.
  • Capacity to embrace and lead change in a fast-paced, constantly fluctuating business environment is essential; plus, ability to exercise solid judgement and resourcefulness in the absence of formalized guideline.
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining a high attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of and experience ensuring compliance with OSHA, DOT HAZMAT and HACCP regulations.
  • Warehouse Management System and/or ERP software experience is required.
  • Experience utilizing cycle count methodologies and performing full physical inventory counts.
  • Material Handling & equipment maintenance experience.
  • 5+ years of direct Warehouse Distribution management experience, including demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and mentor employees.
  • Must be able to obtain forklift certification and operate forklift and other equipment as needed.
  • Experience facilitating effective employee training.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate both verbal & written.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

  • Lean/Six Sigma certification as well as “5S” practices is a plus.
  • Experience in a production environment is preferred
  • 4-year relevant college degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Microsoft Dynamics D365 F&O experience is preferred.
  • Passion for the craft brewing & malting industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and coach supervisors, leads, and warehouse associates.
  • Establish performance expectations and accountability standards.
  • Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, company safety policies, GMP, HACCP, FSMA, and regulatory requirements as applicable.
  • Lead safety meetings, observations, near-miss reporting, investigations, and root cause analyses.
  • Facilitate and/or conduct all required employee training, including forklift and safety certification programs.
  • Maintain compliance with environmental and facility regulations.
  • Oversee all warehouse activities including receiving, put-away, storage, inventory control, picking, packing, shipping, and returns.
  • Ensure daily operational execution meets service level requirements.
  • Monitor labor productivity, equipment utilization, and warehouse capacity.
  • Coordinate transportation and logistics activities with internal and external partners.
  • Conduct performance reviews, employee development planning, and corrective actions when necessary.
  • Manage staffing levels, scheduling, and workforce planning.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation processes.
  • Manage stock levels to support customer demand while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Partner with Supply Chain Planning and Procurement to support inventory strategies.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and manage operating budgets.
  • Control labor, transportation, warehouse, and operating expenses.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Support EBITDA and profitability objectives through operational improvements.
  • Ensure products are handled, stored, and shipped according to quality standards.
  • Support customer satisfaction by achieving order accuracy and on-time delivery targets.
  • Lead investigations and corrective actions related to customer complaints, quality incidents, and non-conformances.
  • Utilize Lean, Six Sigma, and Root Cause Analysis methodologies to improve processes.
  • Drive warehouse optimization initiatives related to productivity, safety, inventory, and service.
  • Implement best practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Lead change management initiatives and employee engagement efforts.
