About The Position

This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Franklin Correctional Institution in the Field Technology Services Department. This position reports to Central Office in Tallahassee, FL. The purpose of the Distributed Computer Systems Analyst is to ensure reliable operation, maintenance, and support of computer systems, networks, and related technologies across multiple Department sites, enabling staff and programs to function efficiently and securely while coordinating with other agencies and providing technical assistance for specialized programs and devices. This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

Requirements

• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must have experience and/or be educated in IT.
• Support of knowledge, skills, and abilities should be demonstrated on the application, in the education, in the work experience, in the work sample, in the interview and/or during reference checks.
• All job applicants and volunteers to pass a Level 2 background check as per Chapter 435, Florida Statutes.
• Only hires U.S. citizens and those authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical support for computer systems and networks at various Department sites, including institutions and offices.
• Plans, designs, installs, and troubleshoots local and wide area networks, connecting computers and maintaining network documentation.
• Installs and supports computer hardware and software, manages system backups, recovery, and troubleshooting.
• Coordinates with other Department areas and agencies to resolve data processing issues and helps maintain equipment inventory.
• Supports VoIP phones, mobile devices, education, and re-entry programs, and is available for on-call technical assistance.
