About The Position
In this role, you’ll lead a high-impact team responsible for managing thousands of barrels of aging whiskey. You will develop leadership skills while working directly with experienced operations leaders, solve real operational challenges and drive process improvements, and work in a historic distillery that blends tradition with modern production systems. This role offers the opportunity to build a career path in operations leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Excellent organization and planning ability
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Passion for safety, quality, and continuous improvement
- Ability to work collaboratively with teams across operations and maintenance
- Lifting up to 50 lbs
- Working 8+ hour shifts with occasional overtime
- Operating in loud, humid environments around moving equipment
- Maintaining strong attention to detail and quality standards
Nice To Haves
- 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or operations environments
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement tools
- Familiarity with regulatory standards such as OSHA, FDA, or TTB
- Interest in building a long-term career in operations leadership
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily barrel warehouse operations and union personnel
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and safety
- Support employee development and maintain positive labor relations
- Coordinate barrel and whiskey movements using inventory and tracking systems
- Manage inventory control, cycle counting, and warehouse logistics
- Ensure operations meet production schedules and department goals
- Lead safety initiatives and ensure compliance with personal safety, food safety, environmental, and quality standards
- Maintain the highest standards for whiskey quality and handling
- Partner with maintenance teams to troubleshoot equipment and operational challenges
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and processes
- Lead or support continuous improvement projects
- Work closely with the Barrel Warehouse Manager to build leadership, operations, and technical skills
- Gain experience in team management, production operations, and regulatory compliance
