About The Position

The Display Production Technician supports Mittera’s Display vertical by performing a dual technical function: producing AutoCAD schematics and engineering drawings used to guide display fabrication, and providing prepress and file preparation support for dye sublimation production. Works primarily with work handed down from the Director of Engineering and collaborates with the Display Operations Manager to provide backup support for dye sublimation file prep.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in CAD drafting, prepress, or a related technical production role
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for producing detailed schematics and engineering drawings for structural display components
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat) for dye sublimation prepress, file preflight, and PDF preparation
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, clean technical drawings and files with minimal errors
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects across both CAD and prepress workstreams, prioritizing effectively under deadlines
  • Comfortable working in a cross-functional environment and communicating technical information clearly to both engineering and production team members
  • Self-directed and adaptable, with a willingness to grow skills across both technical drafting and digital prepress disciplines
  • Effective communications skills with all levels within the organization
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department in the facility.

Nice To Haves

  • experience in display, signage, or large-format print a plus
  • Understanding of color management and output requirements specific to dye sublimation printing preferred

Responsibilities

  • Produces AutoCAD schematics and engineering drawings for display structures including frames, hardware, and component assemblies used to guide fabrication.
  • Performs prepress and file preparation for dye sublimation production, including preflight, color management, file sizing, and output-ready PDF preparation using Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Interprets project briefs, customer specifications, and direction from the Director of Engineering to produce accurate, production-ready drawings and files.
  • Ensures all CAD drawings and prepress files are complete, accurate, and properly formatted before handoff to fabrication or production teams.
  • Coordinates with the Director of Engineering and Display Operations Manager on priorities and timelines; flags missing inputs, spec conflicts, and file issues relating to production.
  • Maintains CAD and prepress files using established file-naming, version control, and documentation standards to ensure assets are accessible to production and engineering teams.
  • Accurately tracks and reports time against jobs and projects in accordance with company procedures.
  • Maintains a clean and organized workspace and adheres to safety standards applicable to the production environment.
  • Cooperates with and supports other departments as needed, including estimating, scheduling, and customer service, to ensure Display projects are executed accurately and on time.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve CAD drafting standards, prepress workflows, or file handoff processes and communicates recommendations to the Director of Engineering or Display Operations Manager.
  • Performs other duties as requested.
