DISPENSING NURSE PT - Alamosa
About The Position
Crossroads Turning Points is seeking a Dispensing Nurse for its Alamosa clinic. The role provides nursing and medical record-keeping services for the Methadone and other programs, including measuring and dispensing methadone and other medications in accordance with physician orders and applicable FDA, DEA, and ADAD regulations. The nurse coordinates with program supervisors and counselors to support patient treatment and ensure medication is dispensed according to physicians’ orders. This is a part-time, day-shift position. The stated rate is $28.13 per hour. Pre-employment drug screening and background checks are required. The position offers a limited number of benefits.
Requirements
- Current LPN or RN license.
- Some coursework in a human service area, such as psychology.
- Knowledge of applicable laws regarding medication dispensing, storage, and accountability.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to bend and lift, with reasonable accommodation available to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening and background checks.

Responsibilities
- Measure and dispense methadone and other medications according to physician orders and applicable regulations.
- Provide nursing and medical record-keeping services for the Methadone and other programs.
- Order, receive, dispense, and keep records of medications according to applicable rules and regulations.
- Coordinate with program supervisors and counselors to support patient treatment and ensure medication is dispensed according to physicians’ orders.
- Dose patients and document all methadone doses within scheduled clinic hours.
- Report inconsistencies and problems regarding controlled-substance handling to the program supervisor.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area and promptly report potential hazards to the supervisor.
- Observe patients for urinalysis.
