About The Position

This role is for a Local Dispatcher with a 7am start, working Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. The compensation is $22 - $23 per hour, depending on experience. The successful candidate will provide support to Class A drivers, ensure smooth route operations, address issues, and communicate with drivers to correct errors in real-time. They will also update customers on delivery status and maintain various reports. The company is an equal-opportunity employer.

Requirements

• Previous dispatching experience for Class A drivers required
• Candidates must possess excellent communication and computer skills
• Must be able to multi-task
• Critical thinking: must be able to adapt to ever-changing scenarios and readjust using the most economical plan.
• Knowledge of the Phoenix metro area to facilitate efficient routing

Nice To Haves

• Experience working within a Truck Management System (TMS) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the Class A drivers (Local) on duty, ensuring that the routes run smoothly and addressing any issues that may arise.
• Communicate with drivers when errors occur with route assignments to get them back on track to be updated in real-time.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions for drivers/route assignments to ensure OTD for pickup and deliveries.
• Provide customer updates on pickup and/or delivery status via email, websites, and/or phone.
• Update information on various reports for both internal and external customers.
• Other clerical duties assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.
