About The Position

Great Waste, a Waste Connections company, is seeking a Dispatcher to join their team in Opa Locka, FL. This fast-paced role involves taking customer calls and dispatching drivers. The position requires strong computer skills, excellent communication, the ability to multitask, and work under pressure. As part of the Dispatch Team, you will contribute to industry-leading customer service. The typical schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, with 10-hour days, working approximately 45-50 hours per week.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent is a must.
2 years of Dispatcher experience in a transportation or logistics atmosphere preferred.
Strong typing skills.
Must have working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Etc.).
Excellent organization and communication skills, both orally and written.

Responsibilities

Work in conjunction with other departments to resolve customer disputes.
Demonstrate proficiency in the use of proprietary operational systems.
Analyze and resolve customer inquiries for missed pick-ups, misplaced containers, and property damage.
Assist drivers when a pick-up or delivery is in question before servicing.
Schedule and dispatch work to various employees and departments throughout the day.
Demonstrate effective use of software applications, at a minimum MS Word and Excel proficient.
Deliver services to customers in a manner that promotes goodwill.
Interact with customers daily.
Work in a fast-paced, cooperative, high call volume environment.
Solicit sale of new or additional services.
