About The Position

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is dedicated to transforming the health care experience and providing access to world-class health care in America’s heartland. This position is responsible for receiving requests for ground medical transport, initiating the mobilization of appropriate teams, communicating with referring hospitals/services, map reading, math skills, and documentation. The role involves performing data entry using the computer and typing any other documentation as assigned. The dispatcher must remain flexible for staffing patterns, maintain a sense of pride and ownership for the program, perform data entry at the time of call, and work with people in phone conversations involving pediatric to geriatric ages of patients.

Requirements

• Must fulfill yearly continuing education requirements of the department
• Must complete orientation for various procedures and other in-service as required
• International Academies of Emergency Dispatch (IAED) - Certified Dispatcher required within six months from date of hire
