About The Position

Leesel Transportation Corp. Dispatchers are responsible for communicating route information to their drivers and ensuring they have the resources necessary to succeed at their tours of duty. Their main duties include logging each call, providing answers to questions by retrieving information from the necessary departments and supervising the field units’ routes to prioritize and organize their schedules. We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented School Bus Dispatcher to join our team. The dispatcher will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of students to and from school, field trips, and other special activities. This role requires strong communication skills, quick problem-solving abilities, and a passion for student safety.

Responsibilities

Create, coordinate, and maintain efficient bus routes and schedules for drivers, ensuring on-time pick-up and drop-off of students.
Act as the primary point of contact for school bus drivers, relaying important information regarding routes, traffic, or weather conditions.
Manage and resolve transportation emergencies, such as accidents, breakdowns, or delays, by quickly dispatching assistance and notifying the appropriate personnel.
Maintain clear communication with drivers, school officials, and parents, addressing any transportation concerns, delays, or changes.
Track the location of buses using GPS and dispatch software, ensuring all vehicles are following their designated routes and timelines.
Ensure all transportation activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations regarding student transportation and safety protocols.
Maintain accurate logs of routes, driver assignments, incidents, and daily transportation activities for reporting and analysis.
Collaborate with transportation managers to optimize routing efficiency, improve safety procedures, and enhance overall service quality.
