About The Position

This role works with production management to ensure an adequate supply of raw product is delivered and available to meet daily production demands. The Dispatcher coordinates the dispatching of third-party provider trucks to transport raw product from the field or storage and deliver to the plant location in accordance with delivery demands. This position monitors in-bound trucks and communicates with drivers, plant management, and the third-party provider regarding delays, issues, or problems. The Dispatcher analyzes transportation/delivery data to uncover inefficiencies and recommend solutions. This role also coordinates with raw receiving to ensure arriving trucks are met and offloaded quickly and effectively. The Dispatcher communicates with drivers and supervisors as required. Additionally, this role participates in the safety engagement process, which includes giving I Care huddles, conducting area assessments, and addressing all safety concerns with the Production Team Lead.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• 1year related experience in dispatch and transportation preferred
• Excel and computer aptitude including understanding of Microsoft suite, Google Maps, basic knowledge of how to read a map and basic data entry skills.
• Valid US driver’s license
• Effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
• Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
• Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Be able to sit, stand, walk, and climb.
• Have good hand-eye coordination.
• Have normal finger dexterity and range of motion.
• Be able to lift up to 35 pounds on frequent basis.
• Have specific vision abilities required by this job, which include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Required to reach, type, and bend with his/her hands and arms repetitively.
• Must be able to push and pull heavy items on occasion.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes transportation/delivery data to uncover inefficiencies and recommend solutions.
• Coordinates with raw receiving to ensure arriving trucks are met and offloaded quickly and effectively.
• Communicates with drivers and supervisors as required.
• Participate in the safety engagement process. This includes giving I Care huddles, conducting area assessments, and addressing all safety concerns with the Production Team Lead.
• Compiles list of available vehicles
• Assigns trucks to deliver raw product to meet daily production demands
• Records time of dispatch, weight, destination, raw type, and expected time of delivery along with any other raw product related information.
• Investigates overdue vehicles
• Directs activities of drivers by two-way radio, computer, and/or voice communication
• Verifies service or delivery routes
• Manage trailers on site
• Do raw receiving and harvest reconciliation
• Other duties may be assigned.
