About The Position

JOB SUMMARY: Perform logistics functions that may include reviewing, preparing and routing shipments, coordinating drivers, work crews, vehicles or equipment to appropriate locations according to schedules or customer requests.

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics software
• Excellent clerical and organizational skills to keep track of schedules, routes and personnel
• Knowledge of computers for scheduling and other dispatching duties
• Ability to multitask with different events happening at the same time
• Ability to work under stress and remain calm
• Ability to relay information in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Responsible for calculating routes and times of deliveries and making the necessary adjustments for sales and customers
• Establish delivery routes which are cost effective and compliant with Federal DOT guidelines while still maintaining an acceptable level of customer service, quality and satisfaction
• Ensuring the safe and timely pick-up and delivery of shipments
• Scheduling and dispatching drivers, work crews, vehicles or equipment to appropriate locations according to schedules
• Responding to sales questions to inform them about expected ship and delivery dates and providing answers to other questions they may have
• Relaying information such as work orders or other messages to and from work crews or supervisors
• Using telephones, two-way radios or outlook email to contact employees
• Keeping and organizing work requests, customer requests, completed work requests, charges for work performed, expenses for services performed, inventory records and other information.
