About The Position

The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating daily delivery operations, facilitating the return and check-in of delivery drivers, and ensuring accurate reconciliation of products, returns, and delivery documentation. This position serves as a key point of communication between drivers, warehouse personnel, Sales, and Operations to resolve delivery concerns, maintain operational efficiency, and support the successful completion of daily routes. The Dispatcher also assists with preparing delivery paperwork, equipment, and operational resources for the following day’s deliveries.

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field preferred
  • Previous experience in dispatching, warehouse operations, transportation, logistics, or beverage distribution preferred
  • Knowledge of delivery operations, inventory reconciliation, and transportation procedures preferred
  • Familiarity with DOT regulations and driver documentation requirements preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and resolve operational concerns in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn company dispatch, inventory, and delivery management systems
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with delivery drivers, warehouse personnel, Sales, and Operations management

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily delivery operations to support the timely and efficient completion of assigned routes
  • Monitor delivery progress and communicate with drivers regarding route delays, delivery concerns, and operational issues
  • Respond to driver inquiries regarding customer accounts, delivery instructions, credit issues, and vehicle concerns
  • Coordinate special delivery requests and communicate operational changes to the appropriate departments
  • Assist with route adjustments and delivery scheduling as directed by Operations management
  • Ensure the successful completion and closeout of daily delivery operations
  • Facilitate the check-in of returning delivery drivers in accordance with established company procedures
  • Verify and reconcile returned products, empty kegs, redemption materials, and other inventory against delivery documentation
  • Identify, document, and communicate inventory discrepancies, damaged products, and delivery shortages
  • Ensure accurate reporting and categorization of product returns, breakage, and delivery adjustments
  • Review completed delivery paperwork to ensure accuracy and compliance with company procedures
  • Communicate unresolved discrepancies to the appropriate Operations, Sales, or administrative personnel
  • Coordinate with warehouse personnel to facilitate the timely unloading of returning delivery vehicles
  • Communicate unloading priorities and operational needs to forklift operators and warehouse staff
  • Prepare and organize the dispatch area for upcoming delivery operations
  • Assist with the preparation and distribution of delivery paperwork, route assignments, and mobile devices
  • Ensure special delivery instructions and operational updates are communicated to the appropriate personnel
  • Support the preparation of delivery vehicles and operational resources for the following day’s routes
  • Maintain accurate delivery records, driver check-in documentation, and operational reports
  • Review driver paperwork to ensure required Department of Transportation (DOT) and company documentation is completed
  • Document and communicate delivery discrepancies, customer concerns, and operational issues to management
  • Assist with driver performance reporting and communicate concerns to the appropriate supervisor
  • Ensure workplace incidents, vehicle accidents, and product damage are documented and reported in accordance with company procedures
  • Participate in Operations meetings and assist with implementing updated policies and procedures
  • Provide administrative support and cross-functional coverage within the Operations Department as needed
  • Follow company safety procedures and applicable DOT requirements
  • Promote safe work practices throughout the dispatch, warehouse, and loading areas
  • Ensure drivers complete required vehicle inspection, delivery, and incident documentation
  • Identify and communicate safety concerns, equipment issues, and operational risks to management
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe dispatch area
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support warehouse and delivery operations
