The Dispatcher schedules drivers and coordinates the safe and efficient transportation of individuals served by the agency. The Dispatcher is directly responsible to the Director of Transportation. Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Dispatcher/Driver Coordinate all bus routes, both in-town and within Livingston, Ford and Iroquois Counties. Coordinate bus driver schedules to ensure that all existing routes are covered. Assure that all vehicles are maintained in safe operating condition, reporting all inspection and/or repair requests to Vehicle Maintenance Technician Assure that all drivers complete required training and demonstrate knowledge and understanding of all safety procedures and requirements. Regularly review existing bus routes, with respect to changing needs to assure that each vehicle is utilized in the most cost efficient and time efficient manner possible. Coordinate with appropriate personnel about individual transportation needs during the day, such as appointments, special events, emergencies, etc. Complete all needed paperwork for billing and data-keeping purposes. Emphasize safety and responsibility to those individuals who ride the bus or van. Communicate any incidents to the appropriate personnel. Complete CPR, CPI, First Aid and Vehicle Safety training, renewing certification as required. and assure that all drivers are current on this training. Maintain updated route lists at all times. Send all pre-approval Non Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) requests to the appropriate agency. Schedule the route, once approved, and fill out appropriate billing forms. Send paperwork to the CFO for billing purposes. Carry agency provided cell phone in case of emergencies.
