About the Role We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Dispatcher to join our operations team in Elizabeth, NJ. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the efficient coordination of drivers, shipments, and routes to meet customer expectations and operational goals. You will work closely with drivers, customers, and internal teams, helping maintain smooth day-to-day logistics while resolving challenges in real time. This position offers the opportunity to build strong operational expertise while contributing directly to service excellence.
Requirements
- Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively
- Knowledge of local and state traffic laws and regulations
- Ability to adapt quickly and make real-time routing decisions
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced operational environment
- Proficiency with computer systems and logistics-related technologies
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule drivers for freight deliveries, pickups, and shipments
- Communicate with customers and vendors regarding shipment details, scheduling, and special requests
- Plan and adjust driver routes to ensure efficient and timely deliveries
- Monitor traffic conditions and operational challenges, implementing corrective actions as needed
- Prepare and maintain dispatch documentation, including route logs and delivery records
- Track driver routes, changes, and delivery/pick-up timelines to ensure accuracy and accountability
- Support fleet operations by monitoring maintenance schedules and logging vendor feedback or concerns
- Respond to inbound calls from drivers, vendors, customers, and internal teams to resolve issues promptly
