About The Position

Dispatcher Care2U is a fast-growing healthcare startup providing on demand, in-home, urgent, and acute care throughout Manhattan, the surrounding boroughs, Nassau, and Westchester counties, focusing on providing a patient-centered care experience. Our goal is to keep patients in their homes and out of the hospital. The dispatcher plays a critical role in managing both urgent and ongoing care needs for our patients. This position supports field staff through effective communication and coordination, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. This is an entry-level position with opportunities for growth.

  • Resides in or near New York City or Long Island, or willing to commute within the operational area.
  • Proficient in using computer systems, scheduling software, and data entry platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Answer calls promptly and professionally, obtaining critical information from callers
  • Evaluate the location and nature of visits. Confer with a supervisor when needed to determine the appropriate level of response.
  • Actively manage the patient scheduling system, updating arrival times and adjusting provider time slots based on field staff updates.
  • Assign field staff based on call priority and location of available units.
  • Provide timely updates on field staff locations and ETAs to clinical and leadership teams.
  • Offer preparation instructions to patients or caregivers while field staff are en route.
  • Track field unit locations and statuses, coordinating activities to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of calls, responses, and outcomes in the dispatch system.
  • Follow established company protocols and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure all necessary information and items are collected before field staff leave a patient’s home.
  • Provide field units with updates on patient orders, traffic, obstacles, and other logistical considerations.
  • Monitor routes and adjust priorities to optimize scheduling and coverage.
