Requirements
- Proficiency in logistics management software (Innovo), GPS tracking (Samsara), Enterprise software (Eclipse) and Microsoft Office.
- Exceptional verbal and written skills for managing constant, high-pressure communication.
- Ability to manage multiple drivers, vehicles, and sales inquiries simultaneously.
- Strong knowledge of the roadways throughout the immediate area.
- High school diploma required.
- Experience in transportation or dispatching is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develop and assign routes and loads to drivers, maximizing efficiency and ensuring time commitments to the customers are met.
- Act as the primary point of contact between drivers, sales, and warehouse staff to provide updates.
- Monitor vehicle locations using GPS and provide real-time updates on freight status.
- Proactively address issues like traffic congestion, vehicle breakdowns, or route disruptions.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including tracking driver hours of service (HOS) and TrueNorth documentation.
- Help ensure timely completion of all required company training.
- Monitor Samsara dashboard for event notifications and present findings to department leadership for coaching.
- Generate bills of lading, freight bills, and maintain detailed records of deliveries.
- Perform other job duties, as assigned.
