Requirements

  • Proficiency in logistics management software (Innovo), GPS tracking (Samsara), Enterprise software (Eclipse) and Microsoft Office.
  • Exceptional verbal and written skills for managing constant, high-pressure communication.
  • Ability to manage multiple drivers, vehicles, and sales inquiries simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of the roadways throughout the immediate area.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Experience in transportation or dispatching is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and assign routes and loads to drivers, maximizing efficiency and ensuring time commitments to the customers are met.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between drivers, sales, and warehouse staff to provide updates.
  • Monitor vehicle locations using GPS and provide real-time updates on freight status.
  • Proactively address issues like traffic congestion, vehicle breakdowns, or route disruptions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including tracking driver hours of service (HOS) and TrueNorth documentation.
  • Help ensure timely completion of all required company training.
  • Monitor Samsara dashboard for event notifications and present findings to department leadership for coaching.
  • Generate bills of lading, freight bills, and maintain detailed records of deliveries.
  • Perform other job duties, as assigned.
