About The Position
Sunset Automotive Group, a large automotive group in Southwest Florida, is seeking an experienced Service Dispatcher for their Sunset Chevrolet-Buick-GMC location. This role is crucial for the service department's success, involving coordination of shop activities, technician assignment, workflow monitoring, and ensuring efficient operations. The ideal candidate is organized, decisive, a strong communicator, and comfortable managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. The schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM.
Requirements
- Basic automotive repair and service knowledge
- Prior automotive service experience; experience as a technician, service advisor, dispatcher, shop foreman, or similar position is highly desirable
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- The ability to prioritize and manage multiple demands at the same time
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The confidence to make decisions and adjust priorities as shop conditions change
- Computer proficiency

- Reynolds & Reynolds experience is a plus
Responsibilities
- Dispatching repair orders to technicians based on skill level, workload, and shop priorities
- Monitoring workflow and technician productivity throughout the day
- Adjusting assignments as priorities, workloads, and customer needs change
- Identifying potential productivity or workflow issues before they become problems
- Communicating professionally with technicians, service advisors, customers, and management
- Helping ensure the service department meets productivity and efficiency goals
- Overseeing shop cleanliness and safety
- Monitoring the condition and availability of required tools and equipment
- Attending quarterly safety meetings
- Completing required manufacturer and company training
- Assisting with other duties necessary to support an efficient, successful service department
