About The Position

The Dispatcher II PT is responsible for handling all 911 and non-emergency calls received in dispatch. This role involves appropriately dispatching and providing directions to ambulance calls, maintaining situational awareness of the 911 system's needs, and managing all required dispatcher paperwork and records. The position also requires demonstrating and encouraging team behavior, exceptional patient/guest experiences, and upholding patient safety and quality.

Requirements

  • High school graduate (or equivalent).
  • Must hold or be able to obtain APCO and Priority Dispatch EMD and EFD certifications within 6 months of hire.
  • Must maintain CPR certification.
  • Train on CAD, Communication, and 911 phone systems until proficient.
  • General typing and computer skills.
  • Professional communication skills with the ability to communicate with 911 callers, patients, coworkers, doctors, nurses.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • ICS courses required are 100, 200, 700, 701, 702, 703, 704, and 800.

Nice To Haves

  • Dispatch experience with Spillman CAD systems is preferred but not required.
  • Spillman CAD system.
  • Microsoft Office IE: (Excel, Word, and Microsoft Outlook).

  • Appropriately dispatch and provide directions to all ambulance calls.
  • Maintain situational awareness of the need of the 911 system.
  • Maintain all paperwork and keep records as required by a dispatcher.
  • Demonstrate and encourage team behavior and exceptional patient/guest experiences.
  • Uphold and promote patient safety and quality.
