Dispatcher - Ambulance - Full Time
About The Position
Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is dedicated to transforming the health care experience and providing access to world-class health care in America’s heartland. This role is responsible for receiving requests for ground medical transport, initiating the mobilization of the appropriate teams, communicating with referring hospitals/services, map reading, math skills and documentation. The position involves performing data entry using the computer and typing any other documentation as assigned. The dispatcher must remain flexible for staffing patterns, maintain a sense of pride and ownership for the program, perform data entry at the time of call, and work with people in phone conversations involving pediatric to geriatric ages of patients.
Requirements
- Must fulfill yearly continuing education requirements of the department
- Must complete orientation for various procedures and other in-service as required
- International Academies of Emergency Dispatch (IAED) - Certified Dispatcher required within six months from date of hire
- May require a valid driver's license with a good driving record (dependent on location)
- Must be 18 years or older (additional approval for those under 21 years old)
