About The Position

Curtis Lumber is seeking a dedicated Dispatch Support individual for its Ballston Spa location. This role is crucial for ensuring efficient deliveries by optimizing order consolidation and managing the daily delivery and transfer processes using ODT software. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, a team player, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. This position involves maintaining accurate delivery information, processing various order types, and proactively identifying potential delivery delays. Strong communication skills are essential for liaising between different departments and with customers. The role also includes assisting management with timecards and driver tracking, cross-training in dispatch functions, and checking truck load accuracy.

Responsibilities

Assist in building efficient deliveries by combining orders into full loads.
Leverage ODT software to monitor and manage daily delivery and transfer processes.
Provide ODT data maintenance support to ensure accurate delivery information.
Process delivery invoices, credit orders, transfer transactions, and credit overrides.
Proactively identify delivery orders that may cause delays (e.g., CODs, incomplete payments, unreceived or out-of-stock products).
Use mapping programs to print delivery directions for drivers.
Assign orders to be staged.
Assist with business tracking to improve operational efficiencies.
Communicate effectively with sales, management, operations, and purchasing regarding order issues (substitutions, out-of-stock, damaged product, etc.).
Notify customers and branches of deliveries.
Assist management with timecards and tracking driver time.
Cross-train to assist with any dispatch function and truck load accuracy checks.
