About The Position

Lonestar Electric Supply is looking for a Dispatch Associate to join a dynamic team. This role involves scheduling drivers for pick-up and delivery of electrical tools and supplies, ensuring safety, efficiency, and timeliness. The ideal candidate will be dependable, prompt, reliable, and engaged, with a strong commitment to superior customer service and a passion for making things happen.

Requirements

Availability to work Sunday - Thursday night 11:00 PM – 8:00 AM
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills to prepare and assign routes.
Strong leadership skills to ensure drivers’ compliance with direction and assignments.
Basic understanding of geographical area and mapping programs.
Proficient with or able to quickly learn dispatch and recordkeeping systems.
Ability to work at a fast pace and under pressure.
Thorough understanding of shipping industry.

Responsibilities

Schedules drivers for pick-up and delivery, selecting the most efficient routes.
Oversees equipment availability and assigns drivers, trucks, and extra drivers as needed.
Consolidates orders into truckloads for specific destinations.
Anticipates weather complications and communicates delays or route changes.
Maintains radio and/or phone contact with drivers, dispatching response and emergency aid.
Maintains and reviews billing and operation records, monitoring daily logs for errors and compliance.
Monitors drivers’ working hours for compliance with federal and state laws.
Oversees maintenance and repair schedules for vehicles.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
