About The Position

The dishwasher provides assistance in all food related functions as directed/instructed and in accordance with established food policies and procedures. This role involves maintaining a clean dish area, proper washing and sanitizing of dishes, and supporting kitchen staff. The position also requires adherence to facility policies, safety measures, and resident rights.

  • Detail-oriented and thorough.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prolonged periods walking or standing.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and place up to 60 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to work days, nights, weekends, and/or holidays as needed.
  • Subject to call-back during emergency conditions.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, and wipe frequently.
  • Must frequently immerse hands in water.
  • Must be able to work in a hot and damp environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Dishwasher experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for proper washing and sanitizing of all dishes.
  • Must always keep dish area clean.
  • Emptying all garbage at the end of the shift.
  • Responsible for keeping track of dishwasher temperatures, cleaning and deliming the dishwasher.
  • When dishes are dry, must put away all dishes.
  • Responsible for cleaning hood over the dishwasher.
  • Must drain and clean out dishwasher in between meals.
  • Help with food prep if needed.
  • Support other staff members when needed.
  • Maintaining all chemicals used in the dish area.
  • Proper use of industrial dishwashing machine
  • Treats all residents with dignity and respect.
  • Promotes and protects all residents’ rights.
  • Establishes a culture of compliance by adhering to all facility policies and procedures.
  • Complies with standards of business conduct, and state/federal regulations and guidelines.
  • Follows appropriate safety and hygiene measures at all times to protect residents and themselves.
  • Maintains confidentiality of protected health information, including verbal, written, and electronic communications.
  • Reports noncompliance with policies, procedures, regulations, or breaches in confidentiality to appropriate personnel.
  • Reports any retaliation or discrimination to HR or compliance officer.
  • Reports any allegations of abuse, neglect, misappropriation of property, exploitation, or mistreatment of residents to supervisor and/or administrator.
  • Protects residents from abuse, and cooperates with all investigations.
  • Reports any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and/or hazardous chemicals in accordance with facility policy.
  • Participates in all life safety and emergency drills and trainings.
  • Fulfills responsibilities as assigned during implementation or activation of the facility’s emergency plan.
  • Reports work-related injuries and illnesses immediately to supervisor.
  • Follows established infection control policies and procedures.
  • As a condition of employment, completes all assigned training and skills competency.
