About The Position

As a Dishwasher with Levy at UW - Madison, you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment. Your attention to detail ensures that all dishes, cookware, and kitchen areas are spotless, following the highest standards of sanitation and safety. Requirements

• Restaurant experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to be on your feet for long hours and move 20-40 lbs of kitchen supplies.
• A strong willingness to contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with others and communicate with supervisors to maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety.
• Must be comfortable using slip-resistant shoes and practicing proper lifting techniques to ensure safety.

Responsibilities

• Scrape, rinse, and wash dishes, pots, pans, and trays by hand or using the dishwashing machine, ensuring they are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
• Wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other food prep surfaces to maintain a sanitary environment.
• Remove trash and waste, placing it in designated containers. Clean and steam garbage cans to maintain a hygienic kitchen space.
• Follow safety and sanitation procedures at all times, ensuring that kitchen areas and equipment comply with cleanliness standards.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors, ensuring that they are kept clean and safe for all kitchen staff.
• Maintain the dishwashing area, ensuring all equipment is functioning properly, and report any issues to the supervisor.
• Assist with the transfer of supplies and equipment between storage and work areas, helping with the unloading and loading of supplies.
• Work closely with supervisors and team members to ensure the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently, always adhering to company sanitation and safety standards.
• Assist with any other tasks as assigned to ensure the overall cleanliness and efficiency of the kitchen.
