About The Position

This is an entry-level position suitable for students with basic foundational knowledge and little to no practical experience, ideal for freshmen or sophomores who have completed only introductory courses. The role involves cleaning all plates, utensils, pots and pans, and food preparation equipment, either manually or using a dishwashing machine. It also includes stacking and putting away cleaned items, and cleaning general kitchen areas and all equipment used. The position is within the Food Production (Kitchen) Department. New hires must complete the Form I-9 to verify their eligibility to work in the U.S. and provide actual documents for identity and work authorization. BYU-Hawaii is an equal opportunity employer.

Requirements

  • Capable of full range of body movement and possess good manual dexterity.
  • Be in good health, good eye sight and a good sense of smell.
  • Able to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Able to communicate in English.
  • Must attach resume and current schedule (weekly view).
  • Must exemplify the university Honor Code, including the Dress and Grooming Principles and Expectations.

  • Preference will be given to students who can work during academic breaks.
